Being an amateur entymologist, I was fascinated by this picture of a dragonfly. In fact, I was so mesmerized I spend most of the afternoon staring at it. I don't think I've ever seen one quite like it. Does anyone know what genus this particular insect belongs in? E-mail me with your findings, or just put them in the Comments box.
Dragonflies just fascinate me....

I don't know if I'm too tightly wound, or completely undone. Let's get together sometime and you can decide for yourself. For those of you that have been to the 'real' Second Grade, you know what a comfortable place it can be....whether you're carousing loudly, enjoying the evening with friends or loved ones, or just sitting quietly by yourself, watching life's rich parade as it unfolds in front of your eyes. Second Grade is kind of a unique window on the world. I hope this site is, too.

I believe it's common name is Stream Darner and it's scientific name is Boyeria Likealotious. Google "dragonfly genus" and click on "Dragonfly Primer: Classification" and see if I'm right.
