Ring Christmas Bells. (Or, A Hopeful Tune.)

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along the unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

Till ringing, singing on its way
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

And in despair I bowed my head
“There is no peace on earth,” I said,
“For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.”

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
“God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men.”

--John Longfellow

A hopeful thought to help you along this holiday weekend. Even when your faith fails, there is music, and a stronger faith to help you through.

Happy holidays to you and yours.

(PS: Sorry bout missing NLT--still working to get the holiday music done. Next week, we'll have the 'between holidays' version. And JQP and his lovely bride can hoist a glass on the Grand Strand, and think of us....and vice versa.)

There is music, there is family, and, thank God, there are friends. Thanks for the reminder after this weeks dose of local news.

Used to be. Now I'm more of a cynical curmudgeon. Give me a few years, and I'll remind you of any of several Walter Matthau characters.
In the meantime, my formerly sunny side still occasionally surfaces. This is an example of that.

Bah humb....er, i mean, Happy Holidays to you.
