Some Thoughts For The Day. (To Tide You Over While I'm Gone.)

Among those whom I like or admire, I can find no common denominator, but among those whom I love, I can: all of them make me laugh.

--W.H. Auden

I got kicked out of ballet class because I pulled a groin muscle. It wasn't mine.

--Rita Rudner

Life isn't fair. It's just fairer than death, that's all.

--William Goldman, 'The Princess Bride'

And two that sum up blogging, and my absence from it while on vacation:
Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something.

--Plato (427BC-347BC)

I dote on his very absence.

--William Shakespeare (1564-1616)

The Next Nine Days.

Situated in Cumberland County. . . in East Tennessee, Renegade Mountain is a gated, secured community built some 2,800 feet above sea level, covering 9,300 unspoiled acres. This rugged nature preserve is home to a broad variety of wildlife, including white-tailed deer, wild turkey, red fox and hundreds of bird species.
Famous for its four gentle seasons, relaxed lifestyle and spectacular natural beauty, Renegade Mountain combines captivating sunrises and sunsets with a lot to do in between. A short drive from Knoxville, Chattanooga and Nashville, we are conveniently located just minutes from I-40. Locally, our residents enjoy community theater, fine dining, outlet mall shopping and diverse outdoor activities. Renegade Mountain remains a special place today. The distinct assortment of animal and plant life contributes in a unique way to the beauty of nature on the mountain, enriching the lives of everyone who visits.

Boy, could my life use some enriching. Looking forward to it.
Some time with the kids, and some peaceful time just relaxing on the side of the mountain....
Might even try to play a round of golf. (Ok, maybe not.....)
See you next weekend.

Three Days To Go.

A Thought For The Day (from Left Of Centrist--sorry Robert, but I can't get the links to work today...)

Would someone be fined if they attempted to pronounce FCC phonetically on the air?

Ok.....lots to do, not much time. Going to leave at noon Thursday and head to Nashville....dinner with an old friend...then off to Knoxville Friday morning to spend the long weekend with my nubs...and enjoy the rest of the week in a nature preserve in middle Tennessee. Lots of fun times ahead. But before I leave, as always, I gotta pack two weeks worth of work into four days....

So if I don't talk to you, have a happy Easter. I won't post next week, unless I seek out a computer. But the digital camera is going along...so photos should be coming soon.

Until then, picture me hiking with my kids on Cumberland Mountain, in central By-God Tennessee...or maybe sitting in a pew at the Ryman Auditorium (after all, music is my REAL religion...)

and take care.
