Been busier than a one legged man in an ass-kicking contest. Summer tends to do that when you're in my business. Sorry about the lack of postings.
So anyway, nine bands later, Borrowed Time won the Classic Rock Cover Band Search. They beat Off The Wall, Big Dick and The Penetrators, and the Joey O. Band in the finals. That doesn't include all of the talented bands that didn't make it that far. All of the bands were great this year....made it tough to judge. Just one (okay, four) of the events that have taken place since last we talked.
The Def Leppard/Journey party bus rocked. Good company, and a good show.
Got tix to see John Fogerty and Willie Nelson, as well as seats to the Dylan show on my birthday. Good times ahead there.
If i get a response to my e-mail, I might go to Buffett Tuesday night. We'll see....Between the Nascar-shirt wearing retards that didn't know Buffett existed until he sang with Alan Jackson; and the average ticket price nowdays, I'm not as excited as I used to be. I might just go and party in the parking lot. Or i might buy the boxed set, and a couple gallons of boat drinks, and have my own lil concert--and still save 40 bucks or so. We'll see.
Talked to AWB...gonna get links to other blogs soon. Thanks, AWB.
No Love Thursday has reappeared, and with my early morning hours, I find myself lured by the siren's call of the "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald." Oh, and KT Matthews is bartending there part time....another reason to go to the mahogany bar.
Oh, and did I mention I'm doing DJing again? Just did a wedding last night. Went well, if I do say so myself. Thanks to new apprentice Cole for his help, and to RH for running across town to get my wireless microphone setup.
Remember, for parties, weddings, bike or car shows, or just cause you need sound, call me. I'm also available to spin in area bars, taverns, clubs, and social orginazations.
Here's a logo we're working on (with apologies to Warner Brothers):
433-3331. Call me for your musical needs. That number again....433-3331.
Thanks to Tom Colvin and the Speaker Workshop (on North Harrison) for getting my sound back to professional grade. Call me if you want to put my newly-renovated speakers to the test.
More soon......
